The World is Flat

I'm probably the only person left on earth who is just reading this book, but I'll give my opinion on it anyway. Thomas Friedman's bestseller The World is Flat is an approximately 500 page rambling, conversational tone book on how small the world really is. In fairness to Thomas Friedman, the book was published in 2005, so some things in it that seem painfully obvious may not have been at the time. It might also be that I run a web development company that is operating in a 'flat world' sort of fashion, so what the book has to say just isn't so revolutionary to me. To be brief, I found the concepts obvious and the writing rambling. I think I might give one of Friedman's books a try when they're fresh from the olive tree. If his others are like this they have a limited shelf life.
